I'm a political junkie passionate about, among MANY other things, Mental Health Parity and advocacy in general. I love working on platform committees, and issue discussions make me light up. =) And, while that is a HUGE piece of who I am- some people think that's all there is to me or that it's the biggest part of me. That's not exactly true. I'm a poet and a writer, a gardener, an occasional computer geek, a grammar freak (though you wouldn't always know it from my posts- damn typos.), a cat lover, a cook, an arts and crafts freak/geek, and SO many other things. I love wandering in the library stacks (I don't know what ya'll are talking about- they are *not* scary. It's fabulous and peaceful down there.) but I spend a rather small percentage of my time there because I have trouble studying in the library due to all the distractions. Who can study with all those books around?! There is so much to me you might never guess at first glance. It's true that once I start talking, in the course of a conversation, I may tell you a good portion of my life history. (I talk too much. I do know that.) However, don't let that fool you. There is always more to tell.

Just a few things about me:

Some people say I think too much. They have no idea.
I love being creative and running with my ideas.
I'm very stubborn, yet, suspiciously indecisive.
I hate hypocrites (passionately).
I love warm spring and summer rains and dancing outside in thunder and lightning storms.
I swore long ago that I would never change who I am solely to fit someone else's description of what I should be.

I used to have an anti-republican quote here. Then I married a non-Democrat (what party he belongs to remains to be seen... by me). Not all Republicans are evil. I still don't believe they are *right.* But not all of them are *bad,* per se. I think the people who control that party are wrong. Many of them genuinely ARE bad people - but not all. Some just have VERY different views. Some just believe in a different way of running things. So I'm taking down the Republican bashing and trying to be a tad more respectful knowing that while I disagree with the Party (strongly) the *people* aren't always evil in and of themselves. :)
